«Letters to Mother» - collected volume of letters
(in Ukrainian and Polish), 248 p.

Collected volume “Letters to Mother” was the first Ukrainian publication of the poet’s letters in Ukrainian translation as part of a series “The Treasures of Epistolary Heritage of Julius Slowatski”. In the preface Tamara Senina gives the research material about the history of letters translation made by Marharyta Hetsevych. The book contains 27 selected (with Kremenets motives) letters of Slowatski addressed to his mother (Salomea Slowatski-Bekiu) from the far emigration to the native Kremenets. It was a decent present for the 200-th poet’s birth anniversary. And for the Ukrainian reader it was a unique opportunity to touch the poet’s soul through the afflatus with the dearest person.

«Julius Slowatski. Poetry in Ukrainian Translation» -

Selected works. From the series “Artistic Heritage of Julius Slowatski in Translation” , 416 р.

The great number of Ukrainian admirers of the XIX century Polish romanticism poet’s talent were anticipating the appearance of the book “Julius Slowatski. Poetry in Ukrainian Translation” for a very long time.   This is a decent addition to the previous publications that saw the world in 1952 (28 selected poetic works of the poet), in 1959 (two-volume edition with the classic editor – Ukrainian poet Maksym Rylskyj ), in 1969 (selected poetry with the same editor), in 2005 (300-pages volume of poetry and drama translations – with the participation of the Ukrainian literature classic Dmytro Pavlychko (the author of the preface) and the famous poet Roman Lubkivskyj (the book editor)). In our publication every translator is accompanied with the annotation, which helps to understand who tries to bring the Poet’s word to the readers in Ukraine. The reader may evaluate the level of translation comparing to the original Polish texts that are in the same volume.

«Kremenets. Following «King-spirit»» - a town guide-book, 16р.

(in Ukrainian and Polish)

The town guide-book is devoted to the 202-nd birth anniversary of the poet. We hope it would stand professors, ethnologists and guides in good stead; it would be of great interest to tourists and would have a lot of readers that admire their motherland. There are a lot of objects in our town that have connection with the figure of the genius Polish romanticist: the street and the lane named after him, the Slowatskis’ family house where now the museum is situated, the town library that is devoted to the poet more than 50 years, his mother’s – Salomea Slowatski-Bekiu – grave on the Tunytskyj cemetery, two monuments, memorial plates and many other things. The family of Janushevski-Slowatski was connected to the work of old Kremenets Lyceum: as we know Theodor Janushevski, grandfather on the mother’s side, was a Lyceum estate manager; professor Euzebiush Slowatski, father of the poet, worked here as a Polish poetry and rhetoric teacher; and due to the documents in 1817-1818 little Julius was studying here. Lyceum kostel – Roman Catholic church (today Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Transfiguration of Jesus Christ) – turned out to be the wedding ceremony sight of the Slowatski conjoints – the parents of the future poet – and the baptism sight of the Julius. Here in kostel lady Salomea married the second time. Besides the soil from her grave was consecrated here before it was transferred to Krakow (now it is in the urn near the entombment of Julius Slowatski in the vault of the Wawel). There are some institutions named after the famous fellow townsman in Kremenets: The Polish Culture Revival Society, The Youth Chamber Choir. Annual International Ski Jumping Tournament dedicated to the memory of Julius Slowatski takes place in our town on the basis of the Specialized Child-Juvenile Sport School. Charming places of the town and its vicinity – the Bona Hill, the Chercha Hill, Maiden Rocks, The Botanical Graden, the rocks between the Osovytsa Hill and the Rotten Lake known among the Kremenets citizens as Slowatski Rocks – these are the symbols of the poet’s “old motherland” and they are presents in many of his works.

    • The author of the preface “About Julius Slowatski” and “Julius Slowatski in his hometown” - Tamara Senina.
    • Liudmyla Okhotska, Alina Shulhan, Olena Haskevych made Polish translation; Oksana Zub and Nataliia Pereskokova proofread texts in Ukrainian.
    • Artistic approach to the booklet design Valerij Senin and Ruslan Metelskij.
    • The guide-book “Kremenets. Following “King-spirit”” was published in the “Terno-hraf” publishing house in Ternopil in the number of 500 copies.
    • The publication was supported by the Kremenets District State Administration, Kremenets District Rada, Culture and Tourism Department of the Kremenets District State Administration.

    2005-2011 рік

    Наша співпраця

During 2005-2010 on the basis of the Regional Literary-Memorial Museum of Julius Slowatski in Kremenets the annual international (Ukrainian – Polish) literary-artistic meetings “Two-Culture Dialogue” take place. The meetings are organized by the Regional Literary-Memorial Museum of Julius Slowatski in Kremenets and the National Museum of Pshemyshl Land from the Polish city of Pshemyshl. In addition to the artistic and photo plein-airs, there are also the presentations of poetic and prose, pictorial and musical works of the two countries artists, famous pianists’ and singers’ concerts. These meetings are unthinkable without conferences that in reality are the main pivot. Every year three categories of the romanticism researchers are covered: higher educational establishments of Ukraine and Poland scientists, literature critics, as well as scientific workers of literary museums in both countries. In Pshemyshl thanks to the Ministry of Culture of Poland serial collected volumes “Two-Culture Dialogue” with scientific essays and articles are published. There are a lot of Ukrainian scientific representatives from Kremenets, Ternopil and Ternopil Region, Rivne, Lutsk, Kolodiazhne, Lviv, Kyiv.

To this date were also dedicated two kinds of envelopes and a stamp Kremenets citizens Jurij and Roman Levandovski (father and son).
